The Origin Story of Oscars Checklist
Massive nerd and slightly known podcaster of the worlds 14,000,605th film based podcast: Beyond The Box Set, I’ve been a fan of the Oscars ever since J. Law tripped up!
Being a nerd with too much time on his hands, of course I spent it making spreadsheets, one of which tracked the Oscar nominations me and my friends had watched. It was a complex spreadsheet that nobody could understand, but when the ceremony came, it allowed me to track who predicted best. Now a competent website developer who spends his paternity leave preferring data management to changing nappies, I thought it strange that my crap old spreadsheet was still the best Oscars checklist out there and felt sorry for the people stuck using the inconsistent lists of IMdB and Letterboxd.
So this is for them: a nicely presented website with every Oscar nomination since the dawn of time! You can mark as watched, compare and compete with your friends, and if I can put in a bit more dev time, you’ll be able to make predictions and have a live scoreboard in time for the 2025 Oscars ceremony!
